SUSTAINABILITY

Love the Earth

Forward
we push,

Change we bring.

Our Story

Speci® is a luxury streetwear company located in Charleroi that was formed in 2022 to deliver high-quality, ecological, and sustainable clothes with vintage accents and athletic silhouettes. Our love for the planet and our environmental mission have always been our top priorities. Millions of clothing items are purchased daily, and with three out of every five t-shirts purchased today being discarded within 12 months, a dump truck of clothing is tossed every second. But with Speci®, our products are created from natural materials and renewable energy, and every product we make is planned from the outset to be returned when worn out, we will reward you with a discount to use on your next purchase, and you are insured for a lifetime with the purchase of any of our items. With the material we recover, we create new goods. The concept is straightforward. Instead of producing additional garbage, turn it into new goods.

Freedom In Fashion

We believe in complete acceptance of who you are and a judgment-free environment, to try something new everyday, to be your own voice. We must have courage and embrace life as the incredible experience that it is. We therefore ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to learn about all the fantastic things they are capable of, regardless of who they are, where they are from, or how they prefer to boss people around. We are here to empower you to be whoever you want to be.

The Planet

We have set high expectations for ourselves in terms of minimizing our environmental impact, and we're continually exploring for ways to enhance. Furthermore, we make significant efforts to avoid the slaughter of animals for the sake of fashion and adhere to stringent sourcing criteria for items containing animal components.

SUSTAINABLE SOURCING

“Organic cotton. Renewable resources. Recycled materials. It’s our blueprint for a better footprint.”

Our Mission

From the beginning, our mission has been to create high quality garments in the most responsible and ethical way. We therefore integrate sustainability into everything we do, making deliberate decisions about who we work with, how we work & what materials we use.

WE ARE CONSCIOUS OF OUR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT.

Our primary focus is on product quality with regard to the planet and people; with this in mind, we also ensure that our goods are as lasting as possible, taking into account natural organic or recycled materials, natural dyes, and patterns. We will continue to optimize the supply chain to reduce CO2 emissions and assist local enterprises and farmers in their efforts to improve.

We collect data from our entire supply chain in order to acquire a better knowledge of our environmental effect and strive toward reducing it. All of our partner industries have cutting-edge Effluent Treatment Plants that remove hazardous materials from the water and guarantee it is safe to reuse. Taking things a step further, we've created a fabric waste recycling initiative.

WE PRODUCE CONTEMPORARY CLOTHING MADE WITH RESPECT FOR BOTH PEOPLE AND THE PLANET.

Our Products

Our products are made only with the best raw materials, grown or produced in ways that do not harm people, animals, or the environment. We exclusively use 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton and other sustainable materials such as Modal®.

We employ recycled polyester at Speci to offer stability to sweatshirts, strength to accessories, and sustainability to coats. We have solely used recycled polyester rather than virgin polyester. Recycling polyester provides for significant energy savings in the production process. It is apparent that dealing with plastic garbage has become one of the most pressing environmental issues of our day; around 9.5 million tons of plastic are dumped into the ocean each year, the majority of which is single-use.

Path TO Sustainability

At Speci, we understand that there is no magic recipe for attaining sustainability; it is an ongoing process based on ever-changing innovation and advancements. What we can do, though, is make careful and thought-out decisions about who we work with, how we work, and what materials we use to ensure respect for the people we work with and the earth we live on. Having a sustainable and innovative business culture that encourages us to make a difference keeps us on track, as does being involved at every stage of our supply chain. We want to close the loop and ensure a totally sustainable business from the cotton field to the final garment with all of our programs and activities.

100% ORGANIC COTTON AND RECYCLED MATERIALS

We have opted to work in a sustainable manner since the beginning. We exclusively use 100% organic cotton since it is better for us. Conventional cotton can never be justified morally. Organic cotton is derived from seeds that have not been genetically modified (non-GMO) and cultivated without the use of artificial herbicides or fertilizers. Natural mechanization is used in organic cotton cultivation. Crop rotation is one example of a method that benefits not just the soil, fauna, and ecology, but also produce biodiverse environments and to promote excellent health and a high quality of life for Farmers and their surrounding villages

WE CONTINUE TO SEEK NEW SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES.

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL
FOOTPRINT

“The earth is what we all have in common and we need to be conscious of our environmental impact.”

Our Mindset

Every day, we strive to develop a sustainable mindset and apply it to our work and personal lives. We have taken it upon ourselves to examine solutions that may assist us in reducing our environmental effects. To reduce plastic waste, we purchase office snacks from local vendors and provide reusable water bottles to all of our employees.

WE ARE WORKING ON IMPROVING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

At present, we cannot fully estimate the carbon footprint of our garments. lots of things are involved, including which region the cotton comes from, the load of the merchandise, the color of the merchandise, and which factory it's made in. we are going to still collect data from across our supply chain with the goal of understanding and improving our environmental impact. it's important to notice that consumption figures are subject to several variables supported metering and data acquisition procedures; calculation methodologies used; respective fabric shades and garment styles manufactured by factories in any given period, etc.
Our commitment is to assess the carbon footprint of our global supply chain and to begin offsetting it. We will do this through a carbon sequestration project (ie
reforestation), together with community projects to assist improve living conditions.

We can't do it all." But there is something we can do. That is what motivates us. We refuse to allow what we can't do get in the way of all the good we can accomplish.
